JCV Choir

The purpose of our choir is to enrich the music education and experience of Vanderburg's 4th and 5th grade students. Choir is a fun and motivating enrichment class that occurs before school. Students learn and gain confidence with vocal skills, develop their ability to sing in harmony, and build community by singing within a group. Students are given multiple opportunities to perform throughout the year. School performances occur at the end of each semester. Students may also have a chance to perform at an optional off-campus event. The off-campus events may change each year depending on the opportunities that are offered in the community. Choir rehearsals occur on Wednesday mornings before school. Auditions will occur in September.

 JCV Instrument Ensemble

The purpose of our Instrument Ensemble is to enrich the music education and experience of Vanderburg's 4th and 5th grade students. Instrument Ensemble is an instrument enrichment class that occurs before school. It requires focus, practice, motivation, and teamwork. Students learn mallet skills and unpitched percussion techniques on a variety of instruments, develop their ability to play together in harmony, and build community by playing their part within a whole group. Instrument Ensemble students perform at the end of the year, in the annual music performance. Instrument Ensemble rehearsals occur on Thursday mornings before school. Auditions will occur at the beginning of the second semester.
